Featured Technology: Microsoft Sway
Application Ideas:
Lab Report: Have students design an interactive lab report
Curate and Share: Have students become experts on a selected topic. Using Sway, students can showcase the knowledge they gained and the diverse resources that gained that knowledge.
Character Analysis: Students can create a profile of a character or historical figure.
How-to Guide: Sway is great for showing process--have students demonstrate the steps needed to solve a problem or way of doing something
Digital Scrapbook: Get to know your students and have them create an interactive digital scrapbook.
Portfolio: Allow students to design their own portfolio (writing, art, lab) and have them reflect on their progress throughout the year.
Digital Storytelling: Have students create their own children's book and have them read (and record) the book aloud!
Featured Lesson: English: Photo Response to Text
Lesson Description: This lesson aims to hone students’ skills of reading, analyzing, and summarizing a text (short story, poem, novel, news article, etc.) Students are asked to read and evaluate a selected or an assigned piece, identify the author’s purpose and style, and then demonstrate knowledge of the text by summarizing the work through images and presenting analysis through image captions.
