Getting Started

How do I get started?

What books can I read?

  • Read any 10 books that sound awesome to you!

  • Include some that appear on our list of 84 award-winning titles. Read book descriptions/summaries here: Destiny Collection list, Goodreads, and see red tabs on top of page page

  • You can count up to FOUR books that you've already read this year in class or on your own.

Where can I get the books to read?

  • The FC Library has multiple copies of each book on the suggested list. Place books on HOLD and you can pick them up at the main entrance of the Freshman Center - directions HERE

  • AND... we have eBooks and audiobooks, too, that you can check out right on your laptop - directions HERE

  • Log in to the online catalog, Destiny Discover, with your Skyward username and student ID #, to place holds and/or check out eBooks and audiobooks

What do I do once I finish a book?

  • Please submit a short Reading Reflection after finishing each book so I can keep track of what you completed.

  • You'll receive a fun little prize for each book you've read/each reflection you submit toward your goal.
