Welcome to Module Two! This module asks you to consider the ways in which you learn best and the theories associated with the learning process. Please listen to the following introduction to gain a further context for your exploration.

What's Your Learning Style?

A critical component of being a lifelong learner is knowing how one learns. Different people learn best in different ways. For example, some students may learn better listenting to a teacher discuss a topic, while other students may learn best with a hands-on application of the topic. A scholar and researcher from Harvard University by the name of Howard Gardner discovered that there are mutliple styles of learning. Please complete the Multiple Intelligence Assessment below to see what Howard Garder would say about your learning style.

Personality is a critical factor in the learning process. One of the most well-known personality tests is the Myers-Briggs Personality Test. Complete the Myers-Briggs Assessment below:

Introduction to Learning Theory

While it is important to reflect on your own self as a learner, it is is also quite pertinent to consider the major learning theories. In other words, it's is necessary to consider what scientists, psycholotists, and other researchers have discovered about the learning process. The research connected learning theory is often used as a driving force for designigning learning environments and curriculum in particular ways.

The video below provides an overview fo the major learning theories. It offers an important introduction that will provide you with a general understanding of each theory. Take notes as you watch this video because you will be required to submit an explanation of each theory presented.
