In-text Citations and Works Cited Page

In-text references are also sometimes called in-text citations, parenthetical references or parenthetical citations. This type of citation goes in the body of your paper BUT it must also match with information that is in your Works Cited page.

For example, here is an excerpt from my paper on Bilingual Education:

In the 1931 court case Alvarez vs. the Lemon Grove School District, a judge ordered that Mexican school children be re-integrated into the white majority schools that they had previously attended (Rigonati).

On a separate Works Cited page, there MUST be a citation that goes with this in-text reference:

Works Cited

"Bilingual Education." Issues: Understanding Controversy and Society, ABC-CLIO, 2017, issues.abc-clio.com/Search/Display/1656181. Accessed 26 Sept. 2017.

Noodle Tools will create the in-text references for you!

1.) Create the citation in Noodle Tools.

2.) In your Sources tab in Noodle Tools, click on the blue "Options" button to the right of your citation.

3.) Select "In-text Reference"

4.) Copy and Paste the info in the parentheses and the period. This goes at the VERY end of your sentence after a quote or anytime you use information that you got from a source.
